Lyon Air Museum is comprised of authentic aircraft, rare vehicles and related memorabilia, with emphasis on the defining event of the 20th century - World War II. Through captivating and thought provoking exhibits based in historical scholarship, visitors gain a better understanding of the important role the United States plays in shaping world history. Founded by Major General William Lyon, Lyon Air Museum is located on the west side of John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California. company and award-winning general aviation repair facility established by the famed Eddie Martin back in 1923.

Our Martin Aviation Wash & Detail crew has been hard at work all week giving Lyon Air Museum’s B-25 “Guardian of Freedom” some extra shine as we get her ready for this weekends Pacific Airshow.

A lot of care, elbow grease, and attention to detail goes into making sure this historic aircraft looks every bit as impressive on the ramp as she does in the sky.

25 years later, we pause to remember September 11, 2001. 🇺🇸

A quarter-century has passed, but we will never forget the nearly 3,000 lives lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the courage, sacrifice, and resilience shown by a nation forever changed.

Today, we share this photograph from our archive of our B-17 Flying Fortress, “Fuddy Duddy,” passing over the New York City skyline. Before finding its home here at Lyon Air Museum, “Fuddy Duddy” called the state of New York home.

Twenty-five years later | We remember. We honor. We will most certainly never forget. 🇺🇸

✈️ Leadership Announcement: Martin Aviation and Lyon Air Museum is pleased to announce the promotion of Marcus Gropl to Vice President – Operations.

Marcus has been part of the Martin Aviation/Lyon Air Museum family since 2013. Over the years, his responsibilities have continued to grow as he has taken on increasingly important roles throughout both organizations, most recently serving as Director of Corporate Development.

As Vice President – Operations, Marcus will take on broad responsibility for supporting and coordinating our day-to-day operations across Martin Aviation and Lyon Air Museum. Working closely with our President and teams across the organization, he will help ensure our people, facilities, systems, and customer-facing operations continue to support our goals and future growth.

This promotion recognizes Marcus’s experience, leadership, initiative, and longstanding commitment to our organization.
