I’ve been playing with texture and surprises in a tiny 6 by 6 inch piece called “Basking in the Sun.” At first glance, it’s a barren tree with all these twisty, sprawling branches, but if you look closer, you’ll spot little tree spirits hiding right in the trunk and limbs. I love how the background shifts from soft, glowing yellows and greens to a quilted purple foreground that almost feels alive beneath the tree. This one was all about layering earth tones and fluid lines to capture a moment of quiet transformation—nature having a secret conversation with itself. It’s small but packed with character, and I hope it invites you to lean in and discover something unexpected. Available at Art Collective, St. Augustine.
