During his voyage to Italy, Paul and those aboard his ship faced a storm that pushed the ship off course. An angel appeared to Paul with a message of reassurance: “Do not be afraid, Paul. You must stand trial before Caeser; God has granted you the lives of all who sail with you.”

This 20th Century art-nouveau stained glass window by J&R lamb studio details the famous biblical story of St. Paul & the Angel of God.

Designed by Frederick Wilson of Tiffany Studios, this monumental window, Te Deum: Christ Enthroned, features 41 panels of Favrile and opalescent glass and more than 70 biblical figures surrounding Christ at the center of the composition.

Originally dedicated in 1899 at the United Methodist Church in Ossining, New York, the window was once described as one of the most “famous windows of this country.”

Construction of the Gelman Stained Glass Museum began in 2015. Built to house this remarkable collection, the museum opened its doors in December of 2021 after six years of development, creating a permanent home for over 170 antique stained glass masterpieces, statues, and altars.
