August 29, 1966. The Beatles played their final live concert before a paying audience at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park. The band had debated ending live shows in the days before, and by their own account, they weren’t fully certain this was the last one until they returned to London. The stadium was only half full, and the wind at Candlestick, notorious in late summer, made it hard for the band to hear themselves onstage.

On August 29, 1966, The Beatles played their final concert at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park. Jim Marshall was the only photographer granted backstage access, and his images of that day remain the only intimate visual record of the show. This year marks the 60th anniversary of that concert.

Remembering the one and only Tim Curry; actor, singer, composer.
(1946-2026)

Tim Curry broke through in 1975 as Dr. Frank N. Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show, turning a poorly reviewed film into a lasting cult classic. He went on to perform roles in Clue, Legend, IT, and Muppet Treasure Island, and decades of animated work. Despite a stroke in 2012, he kept performing and appearing at fan events in the years that followed.

Rothchild and sound engineer Bruce Botnick, the band completed the entire record in under two weeks, capturing signature tracks like “Break On Through (To the Other Side)” and “Light My Fire.”
