“This show is for those of us who’ve been experiencing a heightened sense of anxiety and frustration lately. Reading the news often feels like a bad dream, the rising cost of living weighs heavy on everyone. It seems like everyday life has become more challenging and the future more uncertain than ever. I’ve created this series of paintings while reflecting on this new normal. The figures depicted manifesting their anxiety in their body language. They carry with them an unsettling tension, weary, and a bit claustrophobic.” - Jenna Refuerzo
