🎨✨ Meet "Salem" – a Muñeca Sin Rostro doll envisioned by artist Ramón Santiago and inspired by the vibrant story of local youth Iverson.

This faceless doll celebrates Salem in all its colors — its diversity, joy, flavor, and the pride of those who call it home. Named Salem, she was born and raised here, and she wants the world to see just how full of life this city truly is.

💬 Artist Ramón Santiago shares:
"I love that this young man feels proud to be from Salem, and I want to help bring his story to life for the people of this city. I'm excited to learn more about it. I feel that Iverson wants to represent the colors, the joy, and the unique flavor of the people here — the way they cook, dance, and the charisma they carry. I was immediately drawn to his story and felt inspired to develop it with a sense of harmony that resonates with the residents of Salem."

🗓️ Visit Palmer Cove Park to see more Muñecas Sin Rostro sculptures in progress, and save the date for our inauguration celebration on June 14, from 2–6 PM! 🎉

Saludos from the State House! 🎨
Today, we're proudly advocating for the creative sector alongside our Embajadores — and sharing a heartwarming glimpse of Casa de Abuela with lawmakers and leaders.

This furniture isn’t just décor.
It comes directly from Casa de Abuela, a cultural placemaking installation in Salem, MA that invites you to step into a traditional Dominican country home. Every item is part of a living archive—carrying stories of migration, resilience, and cultural pride.

Why this matters:
Art and culture are not luxuries—they are essential tools for civic engagement, economic justice, and belonging. When we invest in the creative sector, we uplift families, honor immigrant histories, and empower future storytellers.

¡Mira, abuela! Tu historia se comparte en la capital de Massachusetts. 🪑🌻
Arts & culture live in our homes—not just in museums.

SUPPORT CULTURE.
FUND STORYTELLING.
INVEST IN THE ARTS.
