We have a group of residents who are doing research on Quail Town. This was a small establishment just north of SCF where the Destination Trailer Park is located and is believed to be from around the 1840’s. They would love to find a photo of Mindy (Mindy Creek is named after her) the Native American lady who ran the establishment. Anyone with stories, photos or connections please comment below!!

Thanks to the 11 people who showed up for tonight's Open House and Soo Line Book Signing Event. It was fun talking to you about your memories of riding Soo Line passenger trains... and learning more about old Quailtown. If you so choose to become a lifetime member, 100% of the money will go into our investments account on which we will use the interest made, for expenditures. This way, looonngggg after you or I are gone, our membership will always be making the Society money.

A lot of people asked where they can purchase our new "Soo Line's Sixth Subdivision" book. It is available at the SCF Historical Society monthly open house hosted by Robert Tabern (next one is August 19 from 5 to 9pm) at 106 S. Washington. It is also now on sale at the Polk County Information Center... they're open Tuesday to Saturday from 9am to 4pm. $5 of every book is donated to the St. Croix Falls Historical Society and Midwest Rail Rangers.

Turns out we are famous . . . In the Czech Republic!!

A Matej Matela contacted us asking for help with a piece he was writing for his museum’s magazine about our Log Jam of 1886.

He was so kind to send us a copy of the magazine and said “I am in awe that I know someone who lives in a place that I have dreamed of visiting”. We told him to “come on over for a visit, we will be happy to show you around!”
