About 10 years ago my Disney publisher, Disney Fine Art, did something really nice for me by having an article printed about me in Art World News magazine. As I thumbed through the magazine, I came across Peter Max’s Statue of Liberty painting, which inspired this Tom Waits piece, as well as this Steamboat Willie piece—in Max’s very Pop Art style. May you rest in peace Peter Max. The art world has lost a legend. Notice what happens to my Tom Waits piece when you turn it into a black and white image. It’s all about light value.

The gallery was featured on ABC10 very early this morning with Mark S. Allen. Tom represented the gallery well! Too early for Kris & Kellen 🙂

Tom has been having some fun in the gallery playing with some tiki themed art. The paint on this piece was barely dry before it went home with these awesome collectors. Thank you, Chad and Jennifer!

Scenes from our first month open. We’ve met some great people who appreciate art. We’re so excited for our official grand opening in a few weeks—Sat 8/22 & Sun 8/23 with Tom and special guest artists Stephen Fishwick, McBiff, Shane Grammer & Mario Ortiz. There is a rumor that James Crouch may be there, too! Let us know if you plan to go! We can’t wait to see everyone. More info here: panoplfyfineart.com

Thank you for the warm welcome, Old Sacramento! We had our soft opening this past weekend during the grand opening of the Paperworks Building and it’s been a whirlwind! We’re sharing some stunning shots of the gallery taken by our wonderful photographer friend, Sara. Our grand opening won’t be for at least a month (we’ll share the date as soon as we know). But we’re open 7 days a week and have lots of beautiful art from talented artists that needs to be seen in person. Please stop by and check it out (1115 Front Street in Old Sacramento on the Waterfront). The gallery is all the way in the back past the elevator that takes you to the “Death by Natural Causes” exhibit. We’d love to see you!

We still have quite a bit to do, but we’re thrilled with how the space is coming together. The stunning ocean art is by Florida artist, Wendy Angle. It’s so reminiscent of the California coast. Kris and I love her work so much that we have some in our house. It needs to be seen in person.

Panoply Fine Art will be featuring the non Disney work of some of the world’s most renowned Disney artists including the incomparable Stephen Fishwick. Driving all the way up from Dan Diego, Stephen just delivered his INCREDIBLE assortment and graciously picked up the body of work in Huntington Beach from another great friend and icon, the one and only McBiff. I’ll hold off sharing their work until it’s properly hung but with so many globally recognized artists, I better make this gallery special.
