📬 Check this out! Oscar Scott Woody’s incredible story is getting national recognition from the U.S. Postal Service!

USPS recently shared a feature highlighting Woody, a Person County native and one of the five sea postal clerks who lost their lives aboard the Titanic while trying to save the mail in their care. 🚢✉️

We’re proud to help keep his story alive and share this important piece of Person County history.

🚢 We're honored to partner with Titanic: The Exhibition in Charlotte, NC to share the story of Oscar Scott Woody, a Person County native and one of five postal clerks who lost their lives aboard the RMS Titanic.

Beginning August 13, artifacts and historical materials from the Person County Museum of History will be featured in the 25,000-square-foot exhibition, where visitors from across the country will have the opportunity to learn about Woody's life, service, and legacy. To commemorate the occasion, August 13 will be recognized as Oscar Scott Woody Day at the exhibition.

As an added bonus, Person County residents can receive 20% off admission through September 7 by using code PERSON20 at checkout and presenting a valid ID upon entry.
