ng of a future Museum & Gallery. The site and main structure required a renovation plan (Matt Hale, Architect) to allow for public use. With its Greek Revival main house, original detached kitchen, smoke house, and c. 1860 Magnolia, this site is located just steps away from Rolesville's historic stage coach crossroads, market square, Baptist Church and Terrell family cemetery. Exploring the history of Wake County's second-oldest town (incorporated in 1837), Little House Museum & Gallery presents local artifacts that trace earliest indigenous inhabitants through town life of the early 20th century. Exhibits introduce visitors to our town founder William Roles and his eventual bankruptcy, early growth along a stage road from 1822-1837, the town’s early Market Square with original stores and slave trade, four generations of the Terrell family, the George Taylor Lynching of 1918, and much more. An adjacent gallery space thematically pairs antique art and craft with contemporary works by local artists.
