Danica Lundy’s paintings transform personal experiences and encounters into complex emotional and spatial puzzles. In Labyrinth, 2025, scenes of teenagers gathered around a parked car—drinking, smoking, and getting ready for the night—overlap and fracture across the canvas. Drawing on the visual language of Euphoria, Lundy compresses and expands depth, placing the viewer within multiple perspectives at once.

“The pieces range from medical dramas to an intimate scene from inside of someone’s mouth while they’re brushing their teeth… different works but part of a larger theme that is developing.”

-Danica Lundy

Danica Lundy lives and works in Southbury, Connecticut.

John Shen’s practice spans photography, sculpture, and installation, exploring the space between digital and analog materiality. In After Image, 2024, a photograph of his mother is burned into a CRT monitor after being continuously displayed during their four-year separation during the pandemic. For Janus (Hali) and Dragon & Knight, both 2025, Shen uses a handmade camera made from 28,000 drinking straws to create silver gelatin prints that reflect on photography’s past and future.

Arghavan Khosravi creates sculptural paintings and painted objects exploring exile, geopolitics, women’s struggles, and Persian and Western visual culture. Drawing from Persian miniatures, medieval and Renaissance traditions, and Surrealism, she shapes and carves panels into architectural enclosures and imagined landscapes. Her highly detailed works feature female figures and symbolic imagery that explore rupture, contradiction, and the struggle for liberation.

“Perhaps the simplest and most reductive way to see my practice is as a landscape painter of media. I view the world of commercial imagery and try to understand my emotional and intellectual relationship to it as well as the ways it subconsciously affects my sense of self. I seek to dissect how power and identity circulate through images, and to recontextualize these visual tropes to create an emotional register that straddles familiarity and uncertainty.”

Birth of Dusk, 2026, is a black stoneware portrait bust made from a mold of a 3-D scan of the ancient Egyptian seated statue of Lady Sennuwy, a Middle Kingdom noblewoman. Over four thousand years old, the granodiorite statue was moved from Egypt to present-day Sudan three thousand years ago. Excavated from the tomb of a Nubian king in 1913, the statue is now located at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. A recurring character in El Siddique’s work, the statue has gone on journeys that mirror the artist’s own migration experience.
