All Americans Ski Jumping Hall of Fame and Museum

All Americans Ski Jumping Hall of Fame and Museum American Ski Jumping Hall of Fame and Museum Ski jumping was first introduced to America from Norway in 1883 by Torjus and Mikkel Hemmestvedt.

During the early 1900's there was a group of Norwegian ski jumpers from Red Wing. They were all among the first of their generation to be born in America. They were all Aurora Ski Club members, ski jumps were being built all over Red Wing. The best jumpers also competed all over the upper mid west and would often finish in the top ten. Sometimes even when competing among the revered early American

ski jumpers from Ishpeming, Michigan, another great birthplace of the sport. The best ski jumpers from the Aurora Ski Club came to be known as the "All Americans" from Red Wing.

I received an old picture from Hall of Fame inductee Corky Dennison who is on the left with me in the middle and the infamous “Foil” (the perfect human air foil John Werler)on the right. Guessing that the time is probably early 90’s.

Hello all! Just an update for you on our americanskijumping.com website. Ken Anderson (our web guru) is currently updating the design and this is a work in progress. You can check out the site as he is putting in the new logo and designing new pages to explore. For example, all of the pictures from our last HOF event are there for you to see. You can still get the nomination form on this new website as it will be on the old website which you can navigate through the new web if that makes any sense to you! Still looking for nominations for the Hall of Fame that will be considered for induction on August 22nd this summer. Stay tuned for more updates as the happen!
