I sign up for Zoom today in anticipation of my on-line art course tomorrow.

Supplies bought, watercolor papers painted....just one more day. My head of full of ideas.....

It was a busy day on the sunporch yesterday locating, preparing and painting my papers for this Saturday's Jeanne Oliver on-line art workshop. I even dug out my stack of collage books for inspiration.

After all those years of teaching photo classes at the Kalamazoo Institute of Arts and then papermaking classes in my own White Oak Studio & Gallery, who knew that on-line workshop would be the wave of the future...

I am taking an on-line Skype course called "Experiments on Paper." I am VERY excited to be learning new-to-me techniques, how to create new and unusual surfaces and to interface with and to share my work with the other students in this course.

Over the years I have studied photography, hand papermaking, chalk painting vintage furniture, collage making and more but have never seriously dipped into David Grote's Whippoorwill Studio - Oil Paintings and Prints or mark making (except painting the walls of my home!)


This Saturday I'll be working in my sunporch on my little art table, hopefully in the warm sunshine with my girl Ginger lying at my feet. BLISS!

Don't expect me to answer the phone my friends!

I signed up for another on-line art course this week with my favorite collage artist Roxanne Evans Stout.

I have taken two of her on-line courses previously and I enjoyed learning new techniques and creating collages in binders of Arches watercolor paper notebooks. Notebooks work well for me now as our storage space is tight here. I will be leaving these notebook for my granddaughter, Brenna. Brenna does not realize that I have been a closet artist for most of my life.

I have been working on my own most of the winter teaching myself new techniques and using new media like Pan Pastels and creating texture with Gesso.

It will be fun to again share current work projects with other class members on-line.

The course I am taking is called Sacred Scraps + Wild Marks.
