Tomorrow we fire the Beast….The Silo Kiln. Cone 6-7 Soda. It is the end of Micah’s residency at my studio this Summer. Micah arrived just in time for the firing and leaving just after this soda firing. It has been great getting to know them better this Summer.

Our next featured artist to be hosted at Salt of the Earth is Nanci Knoper.

Nanci’s work is realistic and I love the unusual perspective she will paint. This series of bottles are fantastic and would be great in a dining room, wine cellar or bar room. They are framed beautiful too! Her work will be up through the end of the year.

I purchased one of Nanci’s paintings as a gift to my husband about 20 years ago. It still hangs in our dining room, and I still love it as much today as the day I purchased.

We just sent another check to "World Central Kitchen" for sunflower art sales. I am so grateful to our artists for their generosity. We have donated almost $5,000 in the last couple months. One of the latest pieces that sold toward this effort is this piece by artist Ann Willey

Fernwood 1891’s next featured artist is Armando Pedroso. His Barn series has great color theory and wonderful texture. This show will be up into September, and is hosted at Salt of the Earth.

Fernwood 1891’s next featured artist is Maggie Clifford-Bandstra, her series of Fennville Poppies are stunning individually or grouped together as one large 9 piece painting. This work is part of our ongoing featured artist series hosted at Salt of the Earth.

Note: The Pleasant Hill Farm poppy fields are starting to bloom down the road. These amazingly beautiful fields are planted as a memorial to the farm owner’s son. Please respect the wishes of these parents and farm owners.

Farm request…The poppies have just started blooming and will peak around the middle of June. The flowers fade around the 4th of July. The field is west of the Fennville Cemetery and the city asks that vistors would please park along M89 and not in the Cemetery. As always, we ask the folks do not walk in the field even if others have started paths. Thank you

Thank You to everyone who has purchased ”Sunflowers for Ukraine”’. We have raised $2,500 which is being sent to the World Central Kitchen to help feed the refugees.

Thank You to the generosity of our artists as well! We still have paintings that are available and will also go to the charity.
