Chuck Holtzman is an artist and teacher living and working in Boston. Trained as a sculptor at School of the Museum of Fine Arts at Tufts University, he eventually set sculpture aside to focus exclusively on works on paper. His teaching career began in the Visual and Environmental Studies Department at Harvard University and continued at the School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Dartmouth College, Lesley University, and Massachusetts College of Art and Design.
Holtzman has exhibited widely in numerous solo and group exhibitions locally and nationally. His honors include a National Endowment for the Arts Grant, a Massachusetts Cultural Council Grant for Drawing, the Ingram Merrill Foundation Award, a New England Foundation for the Arts Grant, a Pollock-Krasner Foundation Grant, and an Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Foundation Individual Support Grant.
His work has been acquired by numerous public and private collections, including the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the Harvard Art Museums, and others.
