YING KIT CHAN is a Chinese American artist and a professor of art at the University of Louisville. This series [see details from paintings] explores Indra’s Net, a Buddhist concept describing an infinite cosmic web that symbolizes the interconnectedness of all things. His work explores environmental ethics and the relationship between humans and nature.

Alexander Rivero Garcia is a painter, muralist, cartoonist and art lover who is featured in out Global Views Exhibition. He received his postgraduate degree in art and photography at the University of Oriente in Cuba. His pieces are also held in collections across Spain, Mexico, France, Canada, Belize, Jamaica, Russia, and the United States.

Meet Alexander at the show's opening event on Sunday, September 27, from 1:30 - 4:30 - and see the entire painting! The event is free and open to the public. Prospect City Hall, 9200 US 42, Prospect. Refreshments served!

Carlos Gamez de Francisco grew up in Cuba, where listening to Western music brought the threat of punishment. In post-revolutionary Cuba, words were dangerous, so he learned early to guard his speech.

"Art became my language of freedom. Through images and symbols, I could express what I could never say aloud."

And speak to us, he does, with gorgeous paintings filled with symbolism. He often adds insects to his paintings; flying insects represent freedom.

Come see the lovely watercolor pieces by Anil Vinayakan at our new exhibition: Global Views, opening September 27th! Anil was born in India, came to the US in 1993, and in 2004 joined the medical school faculty at the UofL. His watercolors have been accepted in National shows of Kentucky, Georgia and Alabama Watercolor Societies. He also has been accepted in international shows such as Society of Watercolor Artists and the North American Watercolor Society.
Anil is inspired by the beauty of nature and he experiences a deep spiritual connection with nature. He works in all media but currently favors watercolor.
The show is free and open to the public, with the opening event on September 27th from 1:30 - 4:30, refreshments served. Prospect City Hall, 9200 US hwy 42, Prospect, KY
