A reading of the Declaration of Independence by members of the Poultney Historical Society last night. The Declaration was a formal announcement to the world and its profound legacy became a powerful symbol of freedom and self government. It is far more than just an historic document, it is the cornerstone of the United States. Thank you Ennis, Burt and Dan for reminding us of its importance as we celebrate Americas 250th birthday. The Poultney Historical Society teamed up with the Poultney Women’s Club to create a “Women in the Revolution” themed float for the 4th of July parade! It was so much fun and we won in the “Best Depicts the Organization” category! 🇺🇸❤️🇺🇸
