Meet Peter Goldsmith, Chairman of LISTnet, in this latest feature of “4 Questions With.”

What is your current professional role?

I currently serve as Chairman of LISTnet’s Board of Directors, an organization I helped establish in 1997 to support and grow Long Island’s technology community. I’m also a Director at New York Institute of Technology, where I continue working closely with the next generation of technology leaders.

What does being a member of LISTnet mean to you and why is LISTnet important to Long Island?

Being a LISTnet member means being part of a community that is committed to promoting Long Island’s technology industry. LISTnet has continued to grow into the largest technology organization on Long Island, connecting tech companies, entrepreneurs, educators, investors and government together, creating opportunities to build meaningful relationships and help showcase the innovation happening right here on Long Island. It plays an important role in strengthening the industry, supporting local talent and ensuring Long Island remains a place where technology companies can grow and succeed.

Tell us about a project you're currently working on that you're excited about.

Running the NESTS course at NYIT. NESTS stands for Necessary Eleven Steps to Tech Startups. It is a 3-credit experiential entrepreneurship course designed to help students turn a technology idea into a real startup.

What tech trend are you currently watching?

AI-AI-AI. It’s evolving so quickly and changing the way nearly every industry operates.
