Get ready to play with color, pattern, and shape in this fun, whimsical collage workshop! You’ll create your very own Funky Floral artwork using painted papers, colorful patterns, and playful floral and leaf shapes.

You’ll make your own painted collage papers, add colorful patterns with paint pens, then get snipping and cutting your flowers and leaves. From there, you’ll experiment with composition and arrange your pieces into a funky floral design that’s uniquely yours. Create a 9x11 artwork or a collection of notecards and gift tags!

The emphasis is on having fun and playing with your creativity, even if you’ve never created a collage before. No experience is necessary. Sally-Ann will demonstrate each step and cheer you on along the way.

We Are One | Artist Talk and Presentation with Bryan Keith Thomas
Sunday, October 4, 2026

In his talk and presentation, “We Are One,” Bryan Keith Thomas explores and celebrates the rich cultural heritage of the Black South. Drawing on themes of ancestry, spirituality, and collective memory, Thomas uses symbols such as cotton, roses, and church fans to evoke the emotional and cultural landscapes that shape identity.

Rooted in African spiritual traditions, his work creates a dialogue between past and present, reflecting enduring themes of freedom, resilience, and liberation. Thomas invites audiences to consider their own histories and the legacies that shape who we are, while offering a deeper understanding of the Black experience in America.

Color Lab with Lena Wolff

$195 Member | $200 Non-member total, includes $30 in materials.
Color Lab was designed for everyone interested in learning how to experiment with color in new ways. Structured to convey the basics of color theory through hands-on practice, the workshop walks through a sequence of fun, approachable exercises in paint-mixing and collage. In-between art activities, a slideshow is presented that shares information on the biology of color vision, a breakdown of the essential properties of color, and the wondrous phenomenon of color relativity, with visual examples from the early color theorists, textiles, folk-art, and work by contemporary artists.

By the end of the workshop, participants will leave with a small set of color charts and collages, and fodder for a lifetime of future experimentation.

Open to absolute beginners, practicing artists, designers, and craftspeople alike. Older teens with a serious interest in art are also welcome to register.
More information and link to get tickets is in our bio, or here: https://mynorthbaytickets.com/e/color-lab-2
