STREET CLOSURE & RESURFACING UPDATE:
The Street Crew will be continuing resurfacing work this week, with the following street closures planned: Starting today, 8th Street will be closed from the alley near Ace Hardware to Ivanhoe . Starting tomorrow, Grove Street will be closed from 8th Street to 9th Street. The intersection of 8th and Grove will most likely be closed throughout the entire project. Please avoid these areas as much as possible while work is underway. Portions of the streets may reopen periodically as work progresses, but we recommend using alternate routes until the areas are fully reopened. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of the week. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue making improvements to Perry’s streets!

Congratulations to Sergeant Brian Hatfield on earning the FBI-LEEDA Trilogy Award.

To earn this recognition, Sgt. Hatfield successfully completed three intensive leadership courses: the Supervisor Leadership Institute, Command Leadership Institute, and Executive Leadership Institute.

This accomplishment reflects Sgt. Hatfield’s ongoing commitment to professional growth, excellence in leadership, and dedicated service to the City of Perry.

Street Improvements Resume:
The Street Crew has started working on resurfacing the streets again! They will be working on 8th Street between Fir and Ivanhoe as weather and conditions allow over the next several weeks. As the crew mills the existing street and prepares it for new asphalt, please do not hesitate to drive on the milled surface. Driving on the milled street helps compact the surface, which is an important part of preparing it for the new asphalt. We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we continue making improvements to Perry’s streets. Please remember to slow down and use caution when traveling through the work area.

Don’t forget to turn in your completed games by 4 p.m. today to be entered into the drawings. Each completed game earns a drawing ticket, and completing all three earns 5 tickets! As always, we’re here to answer your questions about your utility bill, programs, and ways you may be able to save energy and money.
