Children under the age of 1 admitted free. The Peoria PlayHouse Children's Museum opened in June 2015. Built by the Junior League of Peoria, in collaboration with Peoria Park District and Peoria Zoological Society, The PlayHouse is a hands-on, interactive children’s museum. It is located in the historic Glen Oak Park Pavilion building within Glen Oak Park, adjacent to Peoria Zoo and near Luthy Bot

Next week, new Dungeons & Dragons sessions begin at the PlayHouse, and there are still spots available for aspiring heroes, clever rogues, fearless adventurers, and first-time players.

Whether your child is brand new to D&D or already dreaming up their next character, these five-week adventures offer a chance to build friendships, solve challenges, tell stories, and create unforgettable memories together.

At Peoria PlayHouse Children's Museum, our Monticello Education Internship offers hands-on experience in museum education, program development, and community engagement—all while helping create memorable experiences for thousands of children and families each year. 💛

This isn't a coffee-run internship. You'll be part of the team from day one, gaining real-world experience while helping make childhood a little more magical. ✨

As a museum education intern, you may find yourself:

🌈 Our summer Nature Niños series begins TOMORROW!

Join the Peoria PlayHouse team at Forest Park Nature Center for a morning of Rain & Rainbows-themed fun designed especially for preschool-aged children (ages 3–5) and their caregivers.

Through hands-on S.T.E.A.M. activities, stories, songs, movement, and creative exploration, little learners will discover the wonders of nature while building new skills and vocabulary—including Spanish words and phrases woven throughout the program.
