TÍKAAŠ – THE PRECIOUS ART OF CRADLEBOARDS

It's your last chance to view our exhibit of cradleboards from the Fred L. Mitchell Collection. View these colorfully beaded and finely crafted baby carriers. Used to transport infants leaving the mother’s hands free and keeping the child safe and entertained, cradleboards are often considered works of art. They are traditionally decorated with intricate beadwork, porcupine quills, or paintings. Amulets, toys, and charms are often hung from the protective canopy. Don’t miss this exquisite exhibit!
