Maybe it wasn’t the most solid plan, but I’m happy to report that we have both now fully recovered and are enjoying the memory of our wedding day in the form of a painting. We got married in 2020 so the reception we had planned got canned and we had only family and 5 friends gather in the backyard of the air b n b for the reception. My brother DJ’d from his iPhone and a karaoke machine. At some point we ordered pizza. And I loved every single minute.
I’ve been painting at weddings for over a decade, and to be honest I’m not sure I really understood the appeal for the collector. Creating this piece has made me appreciate what wedding painting can mean— for a person, for a space. It’s worth thinking you have to move boxes for.
Part 2 will show the painting itself, the process behind it, and where we hung it in our home. 🤍
