We’re still looking for the right person to join us at the gallery!

Our community helped us meet some wonderful candidates the first time we shared this, so we’re asking for your help once more.

We’re looking for a friendly, organized, creative person to join us at Denise Hopkins Fine Art in downtown Pass Christian, Mississippi. This is a part-time position, approximately 15–20 hours per week, with room for the role to expand for the right person.

The job is a mix of gallery operations, customer experience, social media and content, events, and all the assorted things that go into running a small, busy gallery. Previous gallery experience isn’t required. We’re much more interested in finding someone who is dependable, self-motivated, comfortable with people, willing to learn, and excited to be part of what we’re building!

Saturday availability is required.

Our first one was such a fun afternoon that we're bringing it back in September.

Grab your sister, your neighbor, your mom, your best friend—or whoever you'd happily spend a Saturday wandering around looking at art with—and come see us.

We'll have new art on the walls, a special pop-up from Magnolia Moon , and a surprise gift for you while you're here.

Oh, Dolly.

My first impulse is to say the lyrics to “Light of a Clear Blue Morning” got me through my darkest of days almost 14 years ago. But I didn’t really start listening to it until I could feel myself emerging on the other side. And it gave new light to the whole saga. Helped me grieve. Helped me celebrate. To this day I still can’t listen to it without tearing up.

It’s Thursday and this painting is a throwback (is that still a thing?) I painted it before the dawn was breaking. I guess in that way it’s aspirational.

“It’s been a long long time
Since I’ve known the taste of freedom
And those clinging vines
That had me bound, well I don’t need ‘em
Oh, I’ve been like a captured eagle, you know an eagle’s born to fly
Now that I have won my freedom, like an eagle I am eager for the sky”
