DESERT PEOPLES: WORDS FROM ANCESTORS is a joint exhibition with the Nevada State Museum, Springs Preserve, The Clark County Museum, and the City of Las Vegas. It features a rare 19th Century handwritten journal containing translations from Southern Paiute ( ) into English —preserving words and meanings that had, un some cases been forgotten over time.

The exhibition opened tonight and remains on viewing the Las Vegas City Hall Grand Gallery through November 19, 2026.

Institutional exhibitions dedicated to indigenous art and culture are generally rare and so I encourage all Las Vegas locals and visitors to check this out.

Harry Mahoney's EROTIC HERITAGE MUSEUM in Las Vegas boasts "World's Largest Display of Erotic Art." It's just a block off the strip, kiddy-corner from the Fashion Show Mall's parking lot and (perhaps fittingly) directly across Sammy Davis Jr. Drive from Trump Tower.

There are educational exhibitions and several galleries dedicated to revolving, curated art shows, but also a number of items in the museum's personal collection —including Picasso drawings and additional hand-written letter from the Marquis de Sade. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Your mileage may vary, but I found it to be incredibly worthwhile. Skip Groupon and buy your tickets in person —it's cheaper.

LITTLE MOUNT RUSHMORE is a roadside, vernacular art installation carved by local resident Pete Karns into the sandstone cliffs of Lower Top Flat Drive in Mesquite, Nevada.

Karns is a former Olympian who was a member of the U.S. Biathlon Team from 1968–72. He was U.S. National Champion in 1970 and 1972 and placed 14th at the 1972 Winter Olympics in Sapporo. He would coach the US Biathalon Team in 1976 in Austria's Tyrol Alps, where they would place 11th.

Massive congrats to Margery Thomas-Mueller for this feature coverage on USA News. Her incredible, floral-themed exhibition lands in the height of spring and we couldn't be more proud to be hosting it now through the end of June.

Margery Thomas-Mueller was trained as an artist in Pittsburgh, New York and Perugia, Italy. Starting with years at the Art Student’s League, Carnegie-Mellon and the Accademia di Belle Arti.

Never abandoning fine art, she worked as an interior designer for over 40 years, designing major commercial and residential projects across the country.

Margery gave up her office and began her practice full time in 2011. Within this time she has had lauded solo shows, been accepted in national and international juried shows, and sold to prominent private clients.

Her present work, which is executed in her studio in Alton, New Hampshire is focused on abstracted landscapes. The medium that she has been engaged in for the past several years is watercolor on Yupo paper. These works are incredibly detailed and so we encourage clicking on each preview image below in order to access a set of detailed close-ups that better convey the level of accomplishment in these paintings that straddle the border between the abstruse and the allegorical under the auspice of nature.

Here are a dozen, cropped preview images.

14 years ago I helped to curate a career retrospective for Wayne Martin Belger at ArtSpace Shreveport. It ran from March through May, 2012. When I saw Shreveport trending on my feed this past week, I thought perhaps it was Meta's algorithm reviving a memory.

Instead it was news of an unspeakable tragedy that took the lives of 8 children whose full existence falls within the time that has elapsed since that show happened. Five girls and three boys, ranging in age from 3 to 11 years old, were killed. They were Jayla Elkins, aged 3, Shayla Elkins, 5, Kayla Pugh, 6, Layla Pugh, 7, Markaydon Pugh, 10, Braylon Snow, 5, Khedarrion Snow, 6, and Sariahh Snow, 11.

Such a small amount of time to be eight entire lifetimes, and yet so consequential to those that knew and loved them. This was the 7th mass killing this year in the USA as of April 27th, 2026.

This one is gone, but we've got a lot of other Japanese movie posters, including a bunch with Meiko Kaji in museum condition. Link to site in our bio and search for "Pinky Violence".
