Ok anyone who knows me... Yes, I am a childless, cat (dog, lizard, goat, guinea pig, rabbit, horse, s**t... all animals )lady. Fats Domino Hertzi was totally fed up with the waiting on the youtube call for our turn for the picture, so you cant tell how pro-Kamala he actually is! I think cats should be able to vote after the Vance commentary, am I right? So instead of less votes cause we dont have children, we get a vote for EVERY cat!

I should be good at this! I have moved 3 times in the last 3 years. One was a big all-house move and the other two were Apartment/Storage Unit moves. Things break and are lost no matter what fancy packing methods you use. So, yesterday was fix-all-the-s**t-that-broke-in-the-last-move day. It was also a day saturated with wistful nostalgia for the good times, things and the people who helped me pack up!

I also missed my shop… My shop had way too much stuff in it, old nails – why do I need those, well, look how beautifully they have rusted, boxes titled: Might be handy someday, and most memorably … Every size of furniture clamp ever manufactured since the 1900! Now I have 4 clamps in 2 sizes, and of course not the right sizes… I am moving into another small apartment (I was captivated by the sunroom) and buying more clamps seems unwise. I sat on the floor so long that the cat got worried and came to comfort me. Do I get off my ass and go buy some? Do I take the whole thing over to school where they have a fancy wood shop? Why do I love old breakable stuff? Etc. This went on, you know how it goes, until I realized that I could nestle the clamps together to hold the spindly towel rack in place for glueing and screwing!

It’s the simple things everyone, just the simple things.

I know no one likes to read anymore, specially on facebook (so my students tell me) But I need to vent... about... bread.

This seems like a really silly thing to rant about. BUT. I am battling a belly that just wont quit expanding. My sister is on a gluten free kick and she has, indeed, lost quite a bit of the bell. She is younger and fitter, but still we are sisters! That should count. Well, I embarked on the "quest for less" and went out to get supplies.

First, I got Gluten free pasta which is actually quite good. Then wonderful, light and delish, tortillas (seriously these are way better than wheat). And then came the bread. I teach art and graphics and happen to know that a traditional business card is 2" x 3.5" As you see from the photo the common size of many GL-free breads is just alittle bigger than a business card. W. H. Y. ? This was what was available at "the good" Krogers in the City. Now I know that there are other brands sporting larger slices... Canyon Bakehouse is a good one but you have to get out of the city to get it - Target up Keystone always has it.

My question to all of you bakers out there is: is it the yeast? is it the heavier flours? is it like corn bread? (oh, doesn't that sound good?) Did they forget the baking soda? Please help me understand. And Thank You!

The last day of our Character Design and Drawing class at the North Canton LIbrary was a spellbinding success! Makayla (In her dad's hat!) and the two Julias pictured here started with creating avatars of themselves and their favorite animal, created the character and then put that unique creature into a very exciting story! Great Job Girls! , ,

Great Tie Dying Day at the !

9 very creative students spent Saturday afternoon making beautiful Shirts and experimenting with colors in the basement "art den" of the North Canton ( ) Library. Thank you so much to all of the participants and a special thank you to Elizabeth Blakemore, the curator of the Little Art Gallery! Bravo Ladies!
