On Wednesdays, we wind clocks đ°
Before smartphones, wristwatches, and alarm clocks, families relied on clocks like these to keep daily life running on schedule. But these beautifully crafted timepieces didnât run on their own, they needed, and still need, weekly winding to keep their pendulums swinging and their chimes ringing.
Each Wednesday, Museum staff must follow a specific procedure to make sure the inner workings of each clock are kept in tip-top shape. Listen closely during your next visit, and you might just hear the same chimes that echoed through these halls when the Flaglers were here!
