We got our banner up, thanks to Rubberneck for the clear image of Lima bean workers circa 1915. In addition to our tasting contest, we’ll have many examples of Lima bean history on display as well as for sale the 2 books I wrote on the history of the subject. Read why we became the Lima Bean Capital of the World. These have been the biggest selling books on the subject during the last years. They may be the only ones written, these books will sell out. Maybe not in my lifetime, but someday.

From a demo of a later addition kitchen to a more original porch. A team effort - Nick’s crew, Kyle, Steven, Mike and some might say some nagging, pushing but I prefer to say leadership, we’re almost there.

While we’ve had some great markets here at the farm park the last several years, we’re trying a new direction to create a more vintage craft fair market to fit our site. I’m working with Macy who has set up our first market on Sunday, August 30 from 10:00-3:00. The Parlor. They say it couldn’t be done! We had the room demoed of the 1940s plaster and the 2nd wood flooring. We found the original fireplace. We got back to the original 1870s wall and floor. We removed over a 1000 nails, filled hundreds of cracks, primered the old walls and chose paint from the era, Bell Blue and Honey Nectar yellow, thanks to Dunn Edward’s. With the help and positive support from my old Yankee teammate, #10 Mike Blankenship, I’m on the right of Mike, we defied the odds and got it done. I’m proud of our effort and thankful of Mike’s friendship and selfless help.
