On May 13, 1969 the Comstock Cabin was moved from Bentley Park to next door to Curwood Castle. This would be its third and final journey which ironically brought the cabin near to its original spot near the Shiawassee River on Main St. Check out our display at Curwood Castle highlighting the history of the Comstock Cabin and the family who had it built. The Castle is open Tuesdays - Sundays 1-5.

Today is Bob Seger's 81st birthday. Did you know that he played at the Owosso Armory on August 27th, 1966? The Armory hosted a number of up and coming musical superstars who at the time were just beginning to make a name for themselves. Unfortunately we don't have photos of Bob from the event. If you have any please share them with us.

On April 12, 1861 — the first shots of the American Civil War rang out just across Charleston Harbor at Fort Sumter. At 4:30 AM, Confederate artillery opened fire, marking the beginning of the deadliest conflict on American soil. The war between the Union and the Confederacy would rage for four years, reshaping the nation’s future.
If you have an ancestor who fought in the Civil War with connections to Owosso please share them with us. Who knows you might see them in a display at Curwood Castle in a couple of years.
