Good morning Oro Valley!
We are so pleased to congratulate manager Kris Harris on the expansion of her business. Kris is an entrepreneur with a Pilates Studio at A&M – Kore Fitness AZ, FreeBird Shoppe AZ at A&M and in Catalina, and a candle making business – Kore Candle Company. Kris is burning every end of the candle and all her hard work is paying off with good news coming from her soon. As has happened with so many other artists at A&M – her business is expanding and she is transitioning to fulltime management of her projects. We are so happy for her, and you will still see her at A&M, in the Pilates studio and in her shoppe. Congratulations Dear Kris, we are so happy for you.
We are thrilled to welcome Cindy Gresser, the former Director of the Museum of Indigenous People to our team. Cindy recently graduated summa cm laude with honors from U of A, and we have been offering her a job for the longest time! The stars finally aligned, and we are thrilled to welcome our new Gallery and Studio Program Manager for Arizona.
Cindy Gresser is a recent (Class of 2026) graduate of the University of Arizona with a BFA in 2d studio arts. She graduated summa cm laude, and as a Franke Honors student. Her art practice is currently focused on collage, abstraction and prints. A former student of Hiro Tashima, she also enjoys sculptural ceramics. She resides in northwest Tucson with her dog, and enjoys family time, especially with two grandnieces and a grandnephew.
Gresser is the former Executive Director of the Museum of Indigenous People in Prescott, Arizona from which she retired in 2021. She accomplished the transformation of this institution, laden with disrespect, to a truly indigenous organization with cultural resource materials from across the Southwest and beyond.
Her passion for the arts was instilled by her mother at an early age. During her time in Northern Arizona, she was also chair of the Prescott Art in Public Places Committee and President of Prescott Area Arts and Humanities Council. Prior work experience includes real estate broker, residential appraiser and licensed general contractor.
“I look forward to helping create an engaging and welcoming community space for artists in Oro Valley. This is an exciting opportunity!” said Gresser.
