Artist Statement:

My work explores themes of personal identity, duality and change. When people are met with adversity and tragedy it changes them. A physician sees people in their darkest hours. Facing events that are so life changing that their life becomes measured by the before and after. They are faced with the reality that beauty and ugliness can and do exist simultaneously in us and in the world. A noxious w**d can also be a beautiful flower. What if we are fundamentally different than how we used to view ourselves? What do we show the world and what do we hide? What happens when we ask ourselves, who do you think you are?

🎓✨ Opening this First Friday at BFF Gallery: The Nature of Nostalgia, the 2026 Benson High School Senior Art Show.

Created in conjunction with BFF Omaha and the Benson Creative District, this exhibition features work by Benson High seniors as they reflect on memory, growth, and personal perspective through their final showcase. Along the way, affiliated artists helped students shape
the show’s theme and develop personal artist statements, while BFF Omaha supported the final
installation in the gallery.

Join us Friday, April 3 from 6–10PM at BFF Gallery and celebrate the next generation of artists in Benson. The exhibition will remain on view through the end of April.
