"Cy-Hawk Faceoff" (36x 36). After weeks of hard work, I'm happy to present this new commission painting featuring Cy and Herky to the general public!

The idea behind this painting came from a father and his son. The father is a University of Iowa graduate while his son will start at Iowa State this fall. They wanted one painting that showcased both the mascots so they could both enjoy it. They sent me an AI-generated image that was the inspiration behind the painting.

I am thinking of having this painting made into a print. What do you think?

SOLD!! "Herbie Husker." (40 x 40). Nebraska's famed football mascot, Herbie Husker, and his five National Championships are in their new home following delivery this morning. 🙂👍

'Hilton Magic!!" (36x36). I'm happy to present this new painting of the Vintage Cy Basketball Mascot on a large canvas. I have not painted an Iowa State mascot on a large canvas for a few years so this was a pleasure to do it again.

"1957 Rose Bowl Herky." (36 x 36). It has been a while since I painted a mascot but I am happy to release this new painting of Iowa's Herky from 1957. This painting was inspired by the lapel pin that was created for the Hawk's Rose Bowl appearance that year.

The 1956 Iowa Hawkeyes football team, achieved a 9–1 record (5–1 Big Ten), won the Big Ten Championship, and ranked #3 in the final AP Poll. In addition, they defeated Oregon State 35–19 in the 1957 Rose Bowl. One of the star players on that Hawkeye team was the legendary Alex Karras.

"Finding A Way." (24x 24). Well, this painting went through a lot of different phases. It started out and ended up as an abstract but, along the way, a beautiful woman made a surprise appearance.

When she was there, I could not create a background that I really loved without destroying the original background, which I didn't want to do. So, after trying unsuccessfully to figure it out, I painted over her and went back to my original idea.
