the artist behind these cowboys once drew Elton John for the cover of TIME Magazine?

Four new watercolors by Don Weller just arrived at the gallery! Before Don was painting the West, he spent decades in Los Angeles as one of the country’s most in-demand illustrators and designers. His work ran on record covers, in advertisements, and across hundreds of magazine pages — covers for TIME and TV Guide, illustrated stories in Sports Illustrated, Boys’ Life, and Reader’s Digest. He designed posters for the Hollywood Bowl, the NFL, the Rose Bowl, and the 1984 Olympic Games. He also illustrated three children’s books and created five stamps for the United States Post Office.

Stop by to view these new works and flip through our books on Don Weller to learn more about his artistic career and impressive résumé!

New arrivals in our Estate Art Collection: two Colorado oils by Walt Gonske.

Gonske left a career as a New York fashion illustrator in 1972 for Taos, and became a founding member of the Taos Six. He works outdoors and finishes most canvases in a single sitting. In his words, he interprets nature rather than reproducing it.

‘Trout Lake — Colorado’ 22” x 22” oil on canvas
‘Silverton, Colorado’ 18” x 20” oil on canvas

Both now available. Inquiries: [email protected] or DM us!
