Today is World Red Head Day and we are celebrating with these three beautiful portraits by Carole Broughton.

Carole captures the essence of each of her sitters, depicting the specific qualities and characteristics that make us all unique.

A native Oklahoman, Carole excels in her ability to paint in
pastels and oils on all subject matter; landscape, still life and figurative works. Her work
is included in the Collectors Guide of New Mexico, Taos Magazine and is nationally
recognized and collected. She is a member of Society of Outdoor Painters, Oil Painters
of America and American Society of Portrait Artists.

Today is National Drawing Day, and we’re celebrating with the work of Dolores Purdy. Dolores creates ledger art, working in colored pencil on antique ledger paper. She brought a woman’s perspective to ledger art, a genre historically dominated by men, and made it entirely her own.

Her work is held in collections including the Smithsonian, the National Museum of the American Indian, and Crystal Bridges.
