This Wednesday and every first Wednesday of the month, artists are welcome to bring 1-2 pieces of work that they would like to be critiqued. We will start with one each and then, if there's time, we will move on to everyone's second.

We will be back at Shapot Art Studio and Gallery this month located at 2318 NE 8th Rd, Ocala, FL 34470

These critiques are both friendly and constructive. We do not shoot anyone down. Instead, we build each other up by offering advice and opinions about that one piece of art that you've been stuck on, struggling with, or unsure if it's finished. Everyone critiques your work, and you critique everyone else's work.

This event is free to community artists of all ages and mediums. Do you have a drawing, painting, photograph, sculpture, film, dance, poem, or song that you'd like to share? Come on out!

*Please try to arrive on time or as close to 6PM as possible to minimize distractions.

**If your art requires any additional tools (example: A projector or computer to show your digital art) please let me know ahead of time so that I can properly prepare.

📣 THIS MONTH is at MARION COUNTY MAKER COLLECTIVE! 📣

What seems like a match made in heaven, this month we are moving things over to the Marion County Maker Space! They are located at 3650 NE 25th St, 1A , Ocala, FL, United States, 34470. 👷

The 8th Ave Gallery proudly presents “Discovery,” opening Friday, May 1st—an electrifying exhibition showcasing five emerging Ocala artists whose work captures the excitement of exploration and transformation. Created during an intensive eight-week course led by artist and gallery owner Seth P. Benzel, each artist debuts four original pieces that reflect bold experimentation, growth, and the emergence of distinct creative voices. On view for one month, “Discovery” invites you to experience the energy of new beginnings, where passion ignites and a fresh generation of artists steps into the spotlight. 8th Ave Gallery extends sincere thanks to the Marion Cultural Alliance and the Four Friends Grant for their generous support.

Well, we did it again! Another fun art-filled weekend!

Saturday is the annual Battle of the brushes at where 12 artists compete head-to-head over 8 hours for a chance to win $2,500. The event starts at 2pm and partial proceeds go to support the and the

Then, on Sunday at we have the Closing Reception of "Sideshow" by Esta Mann . This circus-themed show does not disappoint! You can expect buttery popcorn, free tasty drinks, and ambient performances by Azzie the Clown and Dariancredible via our friends at ! This is the last day to see this exciting gallery exhibit! The event will take place from 1-4pm!

Next Sunday, we'll be gathering for the closing reception of "Sideshow", our current exhibit by Esta Mann!

Here's a look back at last Saturday's opening! We had a wonderful turnout and sold 12 original paintings! Thank you to everyone that attended!

Our closing reception takes place next Sunday from 1-4PM. We will have live performances by , popcorn, and a variety of delicious beverages! Join us as we celebrate this wonderful exhibit!
