Norway Baseball Museum

Norway Baseball Museum Baseball - baseball is the only game where the object is to go home.

In 1905 Jake Kimm (a baseball player) constructed Benton County Savings Bank in Norway, Iowa. That remodeled building now houses a baseball museum that contains Norway baseball history in the form of murals, displays, trophies, pictures, and other historic memorabilia.

The Czech Village Association recently lost one of our valuable volunteers, Richard “Dick” Wayne McVay. Many people knew Dick as an amazing, gifted baseball pitcher from Norway, Iowa. We, however, got to know Dick in later years when he struggled with medical issues that eventually put him in a wheelchair. To us he was a talented and hard-working Mushroom sorter and volunteer. Each year Dick would put in long, grueling days getting mushrooms (Houby) ready for our annual May festival. He didn’t complain and just kept working until the job was done. Thank you Dick. You will be missed.

Just to clear up the confusion....the legal name of our museum is Iowa Baseball Museum of Norway. On Facebook we are Norway Baseball Museum. Many also call our museum "The Norway Hall of Fame." Our website is www.norwaybaseball.com

Norway Baseball Association is the entity that runs the baseball park in Norway. Today they inducted three new members to the hall of fame. They are Betty Emanuel, Tim Brecht, and Terry Brecht. Here are some pictures from today and more will follow.
