This Lily Sprung up in our Day Lily Patch "Volunteered" at first we thought it was a Tiger Lily But it also looks like a Carolina Lily not sure which it is but since I live in North Carolina i decided to call it Carolina Lily It is a very tall and striking flower. We hope to see more if it next season

I found and old photo of this store that I had started Years ago in Watercolor But never finished. I decided it was worth revisiting in oil paint. For those of you locals you might recognize this old store. As my memory serves me it was located at the top of Brushy Mountain Road on the Brushy Mountains. I am not sure it is still standing today as the photo I was referencing was old. The sign and the pump would be worth a lot more these days Let me know if any of you remember it

This is the 4th in my series of Guitar Muse Paintings. The First of which to depict an Acoustic Guitar. The back of this Taylor 614CE is it's most beautiful side displaying figured maple or "lawyer wood" Special thanks to the model Olivia. The red lighting guitar neck shadow gave her face a decidedly Cubist feel. A joy and a Challenge to paint!

I painted this piece from a photo that I took on a Kayak float down the Yadkin River Wilkes County NC. I merged the words Kayak and Yadkin thus the Title. The perspective of the rive and trees seemed to draw you down the river. The kayak float down the Yadkin is incredibly Beautiful I hope I did it justice
