The Garner family lived in North Ogden at 981 E. 1700 N. Halver Berrett Garner (1917-2009) and his wife, Maurine Johns (1917-2008) took pride in their home and conveniences.

The McCormick family poses in front of their Chev Belaire in about 1953. Frank and Joyce were the parents of three boys: Mike, Lex, and Jed. They are near their home at 545 East 2750 North with the North Ogden pass in the background. Their home now houses the North Ogden Historical Museum!

The children of Mary Barker Ward (1879-1971) and Lorenzo Ward (1877-1969) are pictured in 1911. Along with two children born later, they were all raised on a North Ogden dairy farm. James Newman died at age 8 from injuries in a fall. Naomi Ward Randall wrote the lyrics for "I Am a Child of God", a well-known LDS hymn. She also wrote a series of children's books about Barnaby Bumbleberry and his dog Blinker. Naomi died in 2001 at age 92.

A 1956 photo of the Ben Lomond range shows some of the mines that were dug by North Ogden farmers from about 1887 to 1907. They worked the mines in the fall and winter after their crops were harvested to supplement their incomes. REMINDER: The museum will be open today from 1-4 pm, and each 2nd Saturday thru Oct.

Abiathar Richard Cydney Smith built a home on the foothills of Ben Lomond Peak to use while herding his sheep. A water tank north of the home provided city water at one time. The home was demolished in the late 1970s to make way for the Lakeview Heights subdivision. The comparative photo was taken on 450 East and about 3250 North in 2016.

Lamoni Holmes (1875-1955) was the conductor of the Electric Streetcar that came through North Ogden. He worked for the Utah Rapid Transit Co. for 25 years, and then became an Ogden Police officer in 1923. He retired in 1940. His first wife, Alta Mae Campbell died after giving birth to twins in 1906, leaving three small children behind. He later married Anna VanBoerum. He was the father of eight children.
