Berkshire Art Museum presents “That '70s Show,” an exhibition of art created in the 1970s by artists with a Berkshires connection; "Fresh Paint Gallery," an exhibition featuring new work by area artists changing monthly; "Then and Now" featuring new work by select artists in the companion exhibition, "That '70s Show" (opening July 30). Also featured are select works by Eric Rudd from the permanent
collection, including an installation of sculptures on the newly-created "Iceberg." STATEMENT FROM THE DIRECTOR
Berkshire Art Museum is about the Berkshires and the artists who reside here, demonstrating the remarkable artistic talent living and working in our backyard. The Berkshires, of course, are rich in museums, but only BAM focuses on regional names. That’s the cultural niche – the void – we are pleased to fill. MASS MoCA, the DownStreet Art festival, and a vibrant artistic community make North Adams the heart of our county’s visual arts scene. Our hope: BAM will facilitate a means by which all Berkshire artists can more easily contribute to this energy.
