Board members and other friends of the Pimeria Alta Museum embarked on a journey to explore the beautiful towns of Cucurpe and Banamichi, in which each town is nestled in a river valley of the Sierra Sonora.

Tour attendees had the opportunity to walk along the river taking them back in time where the creators of pictographs and Spanish Colonial buildings must have sought solace and inspiration.

Another highlight from the tour included where local residents shared firsthand their love for their home-landscape through warm hospitality, food, and music. #PAHS #CommunityEvents #NogalesArizona

From the Nogales International: “Historic Nogales trolley is ready for display”

A newly refurbished trolley featuring paintings of Nogales landmarks will be on display beginning this Saturday.

The trolley, which dates to 1982, had been donated to the City of Nogales, but had fallen into disrepair in recent years, said Linda Rushton, who led the restoration effort.

To kick off the 5th Annual Dia de los Muertos Altar Tour, our altar exhibit is now open for public viewing! This year we will be honoring three women who made invaluable contributions to the museum: Teresa Leal, Hattie Wilson, and Alma Ready. In addition, there will be an altar honoring first responders, and especially Officer Cordova of the Nogales Police Department.

A special altar will honor Nogales' pioneer retail families. We hope you will visit these altars which commemorate the work of so many special Nogalians through the years. #DiaDeLosMuertosNogales #DiaDeLosMuertos #DayOfTheDead #CommunityEvents #FamilyEvents #NogalesArizona

Starting today, October 12, 2018, the Museum of the Pimeria Alta Historical Society will formally open its October/November exhibit "Nogales Veterans," commemorating the services of Nogalians in World War I, to the present. The exhibits will also commemorate the Centennial of the end of World War I - 11/11/1918- 11/11/2018. The Museum's collection depends upon donations of artifacts, and we would like to ensure that the collection reflects the great service of our veterans. #HistoryOfNogales #HistoricalExhibits #PAHS #NogalesArizona

Earlier this month, we had an exciting week with a group of kiddos who joined us for a fun filled time to learn more about the history of Nogales-Santa Cruz County. From creating arts and crafts to take on field trips around town to see historical landmarks, we had a blast at this year's Summer Fun Children's Camp showing our local youth the rich history of the area.

We are looking forward to next year's camp and thank you to the kind parents and volunteers who contributed their time and effort to make this summer camp a success. #SummerCamp #PAHS #NogalesArizona
