Licking County Historic Jail Welcome to the Historic Licking County Jail! They contract the Paranormal activities to Licking County Jail. Please visit their FB page for details!

Opened in 1889 and built with brownstone quarried in nearby Millersburg, its Richardson Romanesque style gives it the appearance of a Gothic castle. This profile is maintained by the Licking County Governmental Preservation Society (LCGPS) board, which maintains the building.

After countless messages asking about The Jail of Terror haunted attraction.
We would like to announce that this event will no longer be held at the Jail.
Due to conditions beyond the board’s control it was terminated. Sorry for any confusion. We would like to thank everyone that continues support us in our other events and efforts to renovate the jail!!

‼️PUBLIC INVESTIGATION‼️

It’s time to snag your tickets for the September 26th, 2026 public investigation! We are releasing the tickets NOW.

$45/person

• LIMITED SPOTS AVAILABLE
• Ages 18+
• You’re welcome to bring your own equipment (we are not responsible for theft or damage)
• Pizza and water provided with ticket price (feel free to bring your own drink or snack)
• guided groups from 8PM-12AM, roam alone from 12AM-2AM

• HOW TO BUY A TICKET: Send us a direct message with your email for invoicing and first and last name of the ticket holder. Note: there are limited spots available, this means that we cannot hold tickets. First come first served.

Please do not show up intoxicated, we will deny your entry without a refund. If you need to smoke/vape you will have access to outside areas for that. Reminder: there are a lot of stairs and walking involved, wear walking shoes.

Due to the potential for inclement weather this evening, the Downtown Newark Association has made the decision to cancel tonight's Final Friday event.

The safety of our vendors, guests, volunteers, and staff is always our top priority, and we feel this is the best decision given the forecast.

We appreciate your understanding and hope you'll join us next month for our July Final Friday. Stay tuned for event details—we can't wait to see you downtown soon! ☀️
