Don't miss the opportunity to join the Friends of Cooch's Bridge Historic Site for their Juneteenth event, onsite at Cooch's Bridge!

Delaware Online has named the Friends’ annual Juneteenth celebration one of the state’s "must-see" Juneteenth events. We hope you will join us on Friday, June 19 at 4 pm for Juneteenth 2026 at Cooch's Bridge Historic Site.

Our celebration will feature as keynote speaker Dr. Cheryl Gooch, a nationally renowned historian, author, educator, and museum consultant. Dr. Gooch has a lifelong passion for uncovering African American history that has bee overlooked or forgotten.

Complementing the keynote, the accomplished choralist Martin Hargove will perform African American spirituals, including a composition by jazz ensemble leader Jonathan W. Whitney.

The audience will also participate in "Say Their Names," our tradition of remembering past lives at Cooch's Bridge Historic Site.

Juneteenth 2026 is free, but registration is required. Please register at the link below. Parking will be provided at the Pencader Heritage Museum, with shuttle bus service to and from Cooch’s Bridge Historic Site.
