September marks three years of DVV art advisory! 🖼️ Everyone always asks what lead me to start my own firm in my early 20s and my answer is simple, I knew what I wanted to do and I was eager to share it with the world. Another reason was that I didn’t want to choose between working in museums, galleries, auction houses, archives, academia, and libraries, I wanted to build a company that functioned at the intersection of it all.
I learned early on in my life that the best way to learn was by doing. Running and building Devon Vander Voort Art Advisory for the past three years has taught me so much about leadership, trust, relationships, and the business world. Our team has expanded and contracted more times than I can count and the continual shifts in the art market change the way I do business on a monthly basis. I’m grateful for all of the pivots, challenges, and opportunities that DVV has gone through. ✨️
To everyone I have met through DVV and to each and every one of you who has supported this dream of mine for the past three years, thank you, and all I can hope for the future to continue to be an advocate for the arts, objects, artists, collectors, and everyone else in this crazy ever-changing world. 🩷
