This fall, experience history in a whole new way during our Fall Lantern Tours at Schoenbrunn Village!

Join us on September 11th & 12th from 7:30–9:30 PM as the village comes alive by the glow of lantern light. Take a journey back to the era of the American Revolutionary War and discover what life was like for those living in the Ohio Country during one of the most important chapters in American history.

As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America, this is a wonderful opportunity to explore how the Revolution affected the people and communities here on the western frontier. Hear their stories, experience the historic village after dark, and gain a better understanding of what life was like during this transformative time.

Join us September 11th & 12th from 7:30–9:30 PM for a special opportunity to experience Schoenbrunn Village after dark and imagine what life was like during the time of the American Revolutionary War.

As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America, come discover how the American Revolution reached far beyond the thirteen colonies and affected the people living here in the Ohio Country. Your presence helped make the day truly special. Historic places like Schoenbrunn Village are more than buildings and artifacts—they are places where communities come together to share stories, create memories, and celebrate the history that connects us all. 🇺🇸 Join us at 1:00 PM in the center of Schoenbrunn Village for our special Community Welcome as we officially kick off the afternoon festivities of our America 250-Ohio Homecoming Picnic & Celebration!

Before the Community Welcome, be sure to enjoy our Homecoming Picnic on the lower level from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Bring your own picnic lunch or enjoy delicious food available for purchase while spending time with family and friends in a beautiful historic setting.
Local community leaders will share a few remarks about why Schoenbrunn Village is such an important part of our community and Ohio's story, and why it continues to be a place where history comes alive for future generations.

We hope you'll be able to join us at 1:00 PM following the community picnic on the lower level for this special gathering.

🇺🇸 Celebrate America 250 with a Homecoming Picnic at Schoenbrunn Village! 🧺

Join us on Saturday, August 1st, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for our America 250 Homecoming Picnic & Celebration!
Pack your favorite picnic lunch and join us on the lower level of Schoenbrunn Village from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. for an afternoon of live music, local culture, family-friendly games, and community fun. Don't feel like packing lunch? No problem! JT Smoke Kansas City Pit BBQ and Kona Ice of Canton will be on-site from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with delicious food and sweet treats available for purchase.

After the picnic, make your way up into the Village, where the celebration continues until 3:00 p.m. with free activities, demonstrations, crafts, and opportunities to explore Ohio's rich history.

Whether you bring your own picnic or enjoy a meal from one of our vendors, we hope you'll spend the day celebrating Ohio's 250th with us. We can't wait to see you there! 🇺🇸

⚠️ Notice of Temporary Closure

Out of an abundance of caution due to the ongoing air quality issues in Tuscarawas County caused by the Canadian wildfires, Schoenbrunn Village will be closed on Friday, July 17.

We will continue to monitor air quality conditions and will reopen once levels are deemed safe for outdoor activities.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience as we prioritize the health and safety of our visitors, staff, and volunteers.

Visit our live chickens, take a close look at a fascinating observation beehive, and learn how the Moravians and Delaware community at Schoenbrunn relied on the natural world for food, farming, craftsmanship, and survival.

🎨 Art was more than decoration to the Moravians—it was an expression of belief.

The Moravians believed that beauty could inspire the soul. Through music, painting, calligraphy, embroidery, and other forms of artistic expression, they celebrated their beliefs while strengthening their communities. At Schoenbrunn Village, these traditions remind us that creativity has always played an important role in bringing people together.

While the Fourth of July may have passed, the celebration of America's 250th is just getting started! 🇺🇸 Join us on Saturday, August 1, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for our America 250 Community Picnic & Celebration at Schoenbrunn Village.

The celebration will feature the inspiring works of Moravian artist Bill Needs, along with FREE crafts, hands-on activities, demonstrations, and family-friendly fun for all ages. It's a wonderful opportunity to experience Moravian art and culture while celebrating Ohio's rich history and the people who helped shape our nation.
