Wednesday January 14 the Thames River Heritage Park begins their 2026 lecture series at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum. Historian and author, Matthew Reardon, will discuss A Heroic but Doomed Defense: The Battle of New London, September 6, 1781 based on his book The Traitor’s Homecoming: Benedict Arnold’s Raid on New London, Connecticut, September 4-13, 1781.

Matthew Reardon led a sold out Pop-Up Tour this summer on the Thames River. Now is your chance to catch him on stage as he kicks off the 2026 Lecture Series at the Lyman Allyn Art Museum!

Reardon will discuss topics from his recently published book and certain aspects of the Connecticut patriot versus the Connecticut loyalist.

Come today Sunday December 7th to our Holiday Open house, 3 -5.

We’re busy decking the halls for our FREE HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE this SUNDAY DECEMBER 7TH, 3—5 PM. We hope you’ll join us at this FREE FAMILY event. Enjoy three floors of our historic house decorated for the holidays, with phonograph music, cards from our archives, a scavenger hunt, vintage toys and more!
