The WMI is excited to announce the return of the community-engaging program called “A Story & A Walk!” This initiative is designed to encourage you and your little ones to get active in the community while enjoying stories together. Several local businesses will have books available for you to read to your child or for your child to read to you.
Your adventure will begin at the WMI, where you can pick up a tracking form. These forms have a tree with circles on them. In the back of each book, a pocket will contain stickers. After you read a book, add a sticker to your tracking card. On the back of these cards, you'll find the locations of each book.
Once you have completed your walk for the day, return to the WMI to claim a prize. Feel free to read as many or as few books as you like!

The Working Men’s Institute is grateful to receive a $750 grant from the Women’s Fund of the Posey County Community Foundation to help launch a new “Library of Things” at the WMI.

This exciting service will allow patrons to borrow tools, kitchen gadgets, and other useful household items — helping community members access things they may need without the expense of purchasing them individually.

Pictured are WMI President Nathan Maudlin and WMI Director Ryan Rokicki at yesterday morning’s awards breakfast. We were honored to join 23 other deserving Posey County organizations recognized for their work in the community.

Thank you to the Women’s Fund and the Posey County Community Foundation for supporting these wonderful projects that strengthen Posey County!

A more detailed schedule will be posted closer to the event! Stay tuned!
