This beautiful piece was done by one of my local on-the-wall artists, Louis Bivens. Photos don't do justice--this navy frame really gives a depth with the color to pop the painting out even more boldly than before. Everyone stay dry today and have a great weekend!

Do kids these days still like unboxing videos? Well, regardless, here's one. This is one big box of discontinued moulding! So the idea--we're going to get EVEN MORE custom with this beautiful wood. This stuff is stainable, paintable....really anything. I'll do up some stained samples, but really, this could be any color you want and it'll give you something truly one-of-a-kind.

I'll have some of this stuff out during next Art Walk. So make sure to COME TO CRAVEN STREET! WE'RE HERE! Middle St. ain't the only street with good art and fun stuff! The more you guys show up, the more we can have going on, on our oft-forgotten block--so come on by!

And yes, I'll be here; I had a little summer break. Maybe a little overwhelmed with all the framing you awesome folks have been bringing my way, but I'm getting my system worked out! I'm looking at in the nearish future for maybe some expanded hours to keep my momentum going; we'll see. Still working out some little kinks after 3.5 years of owning the place but I do really love it and I appreciate everyone's patience!

Hi friends--I will be closed Sept. 4-8 for vacation with no access to my shop phone, emails...you all know the standard cubicle out-of-office message, so let's go with that! So I won't be framing, but if anyone happens to walk by and courtesy-waters my plants out front, you know, I wouldn't mind.

I will also happily frame un-fixed chalk pastel pictures. Here you can see me adding wire upside-down so the chalk pastel doesn't absolutely obliterate the clarity of the glass on it. Not the most comfortable thing in the world, but whatever you need for framing I always try my best to make it happen!

This isn't the best picture because these horses are BIG! This poor oversized canvas came very crookedly stretched (white canvas edges showing on the front as if they belonged there)--so I re-stretched it on a new set of stretcher bars, only to find out the width of the bottom was about TWO INCHES wider than the top--no wonder! Had to do a little touchup on the paint, as sitting how it did for a while being folded over in the wrong spots caused a little bit of paint flaking that needed to be covered. Luckily, mostly on the black parts at the top. I don't usually do that unless it's glaringly blatant and easily touched up, or if it was requested within reason.

The cuddling dogs in the back are my favorite! Or maybe the gossipy monkeys up top. I'm not sure.

Hi friends! We're open rain or shine. Hopefully we'll get a little bit more "shine" today, but in the meantime, check out this absolutely gorgeous photo from prolific Bulgarian artist Jacko Vassilev! It's a stunning piece and we found a frame that grabs the movement, style, and color (grays are still colors!) to highlight the perfect shot of a very fun billboard still on the truck. Artists in the National Juried Show coming up at Craven Arts Council / Bank of the Arts --this is LAST CALL for any framing/matting/glass that you might need from me! If you need anything done, bring it to me today or I won't have time to get you fixed up! This will be an awesome show and I encourage everyone to go check it out next month.

And as for this picture--whiskey and OJ! What a prescription! Shout out to The Old Pinnix for letting me frame up this one. If you haven't been over there yet, their food and cocktails are delicious, especially if you love toast!

Hi there friends! I'll be closing at 2:30 today instead of the usual 3 for an event I can't miss. And as a reminder for next week--July 1: closed at 3pm. July 4-7: closed all day(s) for Independence Day!

We're all still open! A little construction doesn't bother us. I'm still here framing, and the others are still here working hard, too!

While construction is taking place at the intersection of Craven and Po***ck Street, businesses are OPEN during normal business hours.
*On-street parking available as well as the free Red Bear parking lot on Craven Street near the Doubletree.

Hi there friends! I am still quite a bit under the weather (again, not contagious!) so please be patient with me while I get back up to speed. And in the midst of it all, I have new moulding choices in. I've been waiting on my suppliers to put out some good choices that combine wood with a hint of gold and silver and they're now coming through, so if you're looking for something that combines classic and modern, I've got you covered!
