Midwest Old Threshers Reunion September 2-6, 2027, Mount Pleasant, Iowa
The Mission of the Midwest Old Settlers and Threshers Association is to preserve and celebrate our agricultural heritage through education and entertainment. The original idea to form Midwest Old Threshers Association, a non-profit organization, came from a discussion between Clark Everts, W.E. The four were returning from the Zehr Threshing Reunion in Pontiac, Illinois. Considering the many Steam Engines and Separators in Henry County, Iowa, the men decided there was a great potential to host a Threshing Reunion in Mt. After several winter meetings, the election of a Board of Directors, and lengthy discussions about an Mt. Pleasant event, the Association was chartered on August 21, 1950, and the first Reunion was held September 20 - 21, 1950. The records show that 15 Steam Engines and 8 Separators were exhibited with an estimated 10,000 people attending the first Reunion. MOSTA CREED

In its first 50 plus years, the Old Threshers Reunion has grown to be recognized as the largest event of its kind in the country. People visit from every state in the union as well as numerous foreign countries. Visitors number around 35,000 to 40,000 each year at the 5-day event that traditionally ends on Labor Day. The original show was presented on the fairgrounds but has grown to cover more than 150 acres.

Congratulations to Eric Heerdt for placing the winning bid of a one-of-a-kind painting from local artist Annie Guldburg. This is the second year Annie has donated one if her paintings to be auctioned with proceeds benefitting Midwest Old Threshers.

This original oil painting holds a special meaning for Eric. It was inspired by a photograph taken by his wife of their son Russell—pictured here with Eric—throwing sparks with the 32 Reeves, an engine proudly owned by Midwest Old Threshers.

The painting captures more than a spectacular Reunion moment. It represents family, tradition, and the memories made around the engines and equipment that have brought generations together at Old Threshers.

We’re thrilled this special piece has found a new home, and we thank everyone who placed bids during the auction. We had a total of 10 bidders!

Congratulations, and thank you for helping preserve the traditions that make Old Threshers so special!

And just like that… Day 5 and the 2026 Midwest Old Threshers Reunion are in the books! 🚂

It was a great final day before the Reunion wrapped up at 3 PM, including the crowning of the 2026 Sweet Sixteen Court 👑 and a great performance from the Panther Marching Band! 🥁🎺

Thank you to everyone who joined us over the past five days — our visitors, volunteers, exhibitors, performers, vendors, and everyone who helped make the 2026 Reunion possible!

We’ll see you in 2027 — September 2–6! ❤️🚂

Thank you to everyone who joined us for another unforgettable Reunion. Whether you came for the steam engines, tractors, trains, horses, live entertainment, or simply to make memories with family and friends, we're grateful you chose to spend your Labor Day weekend with us.
