Castle in the Clouds may not be open year round, but that doesn't mean that we can't come to you! With the help of our teacher advisory group, our education team has developed several programs specifically for the classroom that link Castle themes with curriculum standards.

So let us visit your classroom and facilitate a lesson! We are also piloting our Castle in the Classroom programs - those who help us out by filling out post-visit surveys can get a program for free! Attention Educators! Saturday, October 17th is Teacher Appreciation Day.

Join us for a free day of exploration at Castle in the Clouds for teachers and one guest! Bring your school or union I.D. to the ticket booth anytime from 10-3pm to receive two free general admission passes for Castle in the Clouds as a thank you for all that you do. Education team members will be on hand inside the Carriage House to answer all your questions about school programs and teacher programming before or after your self-guided tour.

This is a self-directed day. While here you can also enjoy a hike and/or lunch at the Carriage House Restaurant or Cafe in the Clouds. The trolley leaves for Lucknow Mansion every 15 minutes from the Carriage House between 10:15am and 3:45.

Don't miss your chance to join us for a Graveyard History Walk this season. This tour is only available in October and takes you on a walk around the property formerly known as Ossipee Park to view the remnants of cemeteries and cellar holes of the early residents! You’ll learn about the lives and funerary traditions of the families who lived here.

Please be aware that this tour involves walking approximately two miles outdoors, including inclines and uneven ground. Please wear appropriate footwear, dress for the weather, and bring sunscreen and bug spray as desired.

Our Castle Sunset Tours are back on October 15th and 22nd from 5:30 to 8:30pm.

Enjoy a unique opportunity to tour Lucknow Mansion at a time when the estate goes quiet, the sun sets behind the mountains, and the stars fill the sky! Relax with drinks and hors d’oeuvres in the Carriage House and then explore the mansion at your leisure through a self-guided tour.

Trolleys leave from the Carriage House every fifteen minutes beginning at 5:30pm. The final trolley to Lucknow is at 7:15 pm.

Come join us on Saturday, October 17th from 9-1pm for a Waterfalls Photography Workshop!

In partnership with photographer Matt Cohen and ArtWorks, we are offering this unique opportunity to learn digital camera and smartphone photography techniques while photographing the Castle’s waterfalls, wildlife, and the natural surroundings on the Castle’s grounds. Workshop includes settings for waterfalls, motion blur for water effects, lighting, composition, and the use of both standard and smartphone tripods. This workshop takes place at the beautiful Castle In The Clouds “Brook Walk”, a 1-mile trail leading to viewpoints of 7 waterfalls and likely great foliage with this timing! The trail is “easy-to-medium” difficulty. Any digital camera or smartphone is welcome, tripod recommended. All skill levels are welcome. 10 participants maximum.

Foliage Update! 🍂

We are approaching peak foliage in the Ossipee Mountains surrounding the National Historic Landmark Lucknow Estate. Amazing fall color is also becoming more prominent in the valley closer to our historic buildings.
