Richard's Coffee Shop is a living military museum dedicated to honoring America's veterans, active duty personnel and emergency services personnel. The veterans who visit the shop played a part in the history of the artifacts and memorabilia displayed in the museum. There are two special events that happen each week;

1 - Thursdays is a day for veterans to come and get together and enjoy each othe

rs company and a free coffee.

2 - Saturdays we have a Music Jam session which anyone is welcome to come in and either play or have a cup of coffee and enjoy the music. Everyone that comes into the coffee shop learns the history of a man named Richard Warren, who started the shop in 1995. Volunteers and a nonprofit Board of Directors are continuing his legacy by providing a place for all to gather as well as assisting veterans and their families in many ways. The coffee shop, museum, and gift shop are open Mondays - Saturday from 8:00am to 1:00pm.

25 years later, we remember. 🇺🇸

On Friday, September 11, the Town of Mooresville, in partnership with the Exchange Club of Mooresville/Lake Norman and Richard’s Coffee Shop, will commemorate the 25th Anniversary of September 11 with a morning of remembrance at Liberty Park.

The morning begins at 8:46 a.m. with a Silent Remembrance Walk from Richard’s Coffee Shop to Liberty Park, followed by the 25th Anniversary September 11 Memorial Ceremony at 9 a.m.

The ceremony will feature meaningful testimonials and reflections from FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge Kevin Swanson and Bob Hogan, President and CEO of Clermont Trust USA, LLC, along with a special performance by internationally acclaimed tenor Anthony Kearns of The Irish Tenors.

Following the ceremony, a reception will be held at Richard’s Coffee Shop.

This milestone anniversary honors the lives lost on September 11, 2001, recognizes the courage and sacrifice of first responders, military members, and all who answered the call to serve, and reflects on the strength and resilience that continue to unite our nation.​
The ceremony will feature a special musical performance by Anthony Kearns of the Irish Tenors, patriotic tributes, moments of reflection, and opportunities for our community to gather in remembrance and gratitude.

We invite everyone to walk, gather, and remember together as we honor those we lost, celebrate the heroes who inspired a nation, and reaffirm that we will never forget.
