--> Mapiti: Spirit Forms — Now Showing on Artsy, presented by Artgal.Online through the Artgal Zim Center Exhibition Series, runs August 14–31, 2026, presenting a collection of sculptures by Zimbabwean artist Sampson Kuvenguhwa. The exhibition offers audiences an opportunity to explore his distinctive sculptural practice and the spiritual, cultural, and symbolic ideas embedded within his work. Presented by Artgal.Online and the Artgal Zim Center, the exhibition forms part of a broader initiative connecting Zimbabwean artists and artistic voices with collectors, curators, cultural institutions, and audiences internationally. Sampson Kuvenguhwa is a contemporary Zimbabwean sculptor whose work is deeply connected to the traditions and spiritual heritage of Shona stone sculpture. His sculptural practice explores themes of spirit, ancestry, continuity, nature, and the relationship between the physical and spiritual worlds. Working primarily in stone, he creates expressive forms that reflect Zimbabwe’s rich sculptural traditions while engaging contemporary audiences through powerful, symbolic compositions. His work forms an important part of the artistic community being developed and supported through Artgal.Online and the Artgalzim Center in Domboshava. Inspired by the artwork of Marina Kappos, create a layered and luminous composition with repeated forms, shifting imagery, and subtle vibrations to create a sense of movement and connection. Participants will explore themes of resonance, reflection, and interconnectedness through cut paper collage with intentional layering and visual rhythm. RSVP via link. --> 'How Wynwood Became One of the World’s Most Famous Street Art Districts'. Long before Wynwood became synonymous with vibrant murals, internationally renowned street artists, and one of the world’s most photographed arts districts, it was a neighborhood defined by industry, manufacturing, and hard work. As artists and creative pioneers began discovering Wynwood’s potential, one visionary recognized that the neighborhood’s greatest asset was not something that needed to be created—it was already there, waiting to be revealed. That visionary was Tony Goldman, a Miami-based real estate developer and preservationist known for transforming overlooked neighborhoods into vibrant cultural destinations. In 2009, Goldman Properties launched Wynwood Walls & Art District, Miami, transforming a collection of warehouse walls into an international outdoor gallery showcasing large-scale murals by some of the world’s most influential street artists. The project brought together artists from around the globe, turning previously overlooked surfaces into monumental works of public art and establishing Wynwood as a destination where creativity could be experienced openly by everyone. Wynwood Walls became more than a collection of murals—it became a symbol of Miami’s cultural evolution.

--> The Betsy Hotel Orb: “The Egg” Connecting Miami Beach’s Architectural Past and Present. Known as The Betsy Orb, and affectionately referred to by many as “The Egg,” the distinctive skybridge connects The Betsy's original Ocean Drive property with the former Carlton Hotel building on Collins Avenue. What makes the structure particularly fascinating is the contrast between the historic architecture surrounding it and its contemporary sculptural form. Rather than competing with the buildings, the Orb creates a visual conversation between Miami Beach's architectural past and its evolving cultural identity. The Betsy Hotel itself describes the Orb as an “orb-shaped skybridge” and highlights it alongside the property's Poetry Rail and other art and design elements.
