Looking for a unique and memorable Girl Scouting experience? ✨

At the Wolcott Heritage Center, Girl Scouts step back in time to explore 19th-century life through hands-on activities, historic crafts, immersive storytelling, and interactive learning adventures! From pioneer skills and Victorian traditions to gardening, detective work, and nature exploration, each program combines history, creativity, and fun while helping scouts earn badges and build lasting memories.

Our scouting programs include:

🌸 Playing in the Past
Enjoy Victorian fashions, create calling cards and fashion fans, learn the secret language of the fan, and attend a special Victorian tea party.

🦋 Social Butterfly
Practice conversation skills, table manners, and hospitality while exploring celebrations and traditions of the past.

🔎 Detective
Experiment with Morse Code, study historic handwriting, solve clues through scavenger hunts, and create fingerprint records.

🌱 Gardener
Learn about planting, gardening, and Ohio growing seasons while exploring our flower, vegetable, and heritage gardens.

💐 Flowers
Discover how flowers were used throughout history for decoration and healing while creating preserved flower artwork.

🐞 Bugs (Brownies Only)
Search for insects throughout the grounds, investigate bug habitats, and create fun bug-themed projects.

Programs are available seasonally and are designed for small groups to create meaningful, hands-on experiences for scouts.

The Maumee Valley Historical Society is thrilled to announce our Fiber Arts Camp for students entering Grades 6–8!

🗓 Tuesday through Thursday, June 9–11, 2026
⏰ 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Participants will discover the creativity and history behind traditional fiber arts through hands-on projects and activities. Campers will explore techniques such as weaving, stitching, and other historic crafts while learning how fiber arts played an important role in everyday life throughout history.

Calling all young historians and explorers! The Maumee Valley Historical Society is excited to offer our History Day Camp for students entering Grades 3–5!

🗓 Monday through Thursday, June 15–18, 2026
⏰ 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Campers will step back in time through hands-on activities, games, crafts, historic demonstrations, and interactive learning experiences that bring local history to life. Step back into the story of America’s founding at the Wolcott Heritage Center’s new America 250 exhibit!

Visitors are invited to explore the fascinating connection between the Wolcott family and the signing of the Declaration of Independence through artifacts, stories, and interactive historical displays that bring the Revolutionary era to life.

Learn about Oliver Wolcott, signer of the Declaration of Independence, and discover how this national story connects directly to Maumee history and the Wolcott family legacy right here at our site.

Come explore, discover, and celebrate America 250 with us at the Wolcott Heritage Center!

We are a little more than one week away from opening day at the Wolcott Heritage Center, and we cannot wait to welcome all of our visitors back for another wonderful season of history, tours, and special experiences.

We will officially open on Saturday, May 16, with tours beginning at 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., and continuing every Saturday through December. Tours are free to the public as a thank you for the incredible support our community continues to show us each year.

We look forward to seeing you at the Wolcott Heritage Center and sharing the stories, history, and traditions that make our site so special!

The Wolcott Heritage Center is excited to be included in the America-250 Ohio Transportation Trail. This amazing experiential driving trail features more than 80 sites across Ohio that showcase the individuals and locations that powered the movement of the nation’s travelers, trade, and transformative ideas throughout history.

We are proud to be included on this exciting trail and to share the history of transportation in our region through the historic Cloverleaf Depot and Caboose. Visitors can begin touring the Depot and Caboose starting Saturday, May 16, with tours beginning at 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., and continuing every Saturday through December.
